ALVIN BEYER

Alvin G. Beyer, age 75 of Neenah, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2011. Al was born June 2, 1936 in Neenah to the late Amanda (Brandt) Beyer and Walter Beyer. He grew up in Neenah and graduated from Neenah High School in 1954. Al then attended the University of Wisconsin, Madison and graduated with an Electrical Engineering Degree in 1960. He worked as an electrical engineer for the Kimberly Clark Corporation until he retired in 1995. On October 8, 1960, Al and Nancy Wismer were married. Together they raised 3 daughters. Al was an avid photographer who enjoyed capturing beautiful landscapes, flowers and his grandchildren's sporting events. He could regularly be seen sporting his camera bag and lawn chair to watch his grandchildren's events. He was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin (Bucky) Badgers football games. He also greatly enjoyed Wisconsin summers fishing on the pontoon, and Florida winters. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor and nicknames for others. Although he was a quiet man, he was very thoughtful and wise. Al is survived by his 3 daughters and their families: Teri Beyer and her children: Sarah, Anna and Will, Neenah; Cindy Beyer and children: Tia and Kaylee, Plover; Lynn (Tim) Martin and their children: Ian, Stephanie and Brianna, Wisconsin Rapids. He is further survived by his sister Eunice (Ron) Jirikowic, Little Chute. Along with his parents, Al was also preceded in death by his brother Lester Beyer and a lifelong friend, Rollie Kramer. A memorial service and celebration of Al's life will be held Friday, December 16, 2011 at 7:00 P.M. at Neenahs Westgor Funeral Home, Chaplain Jordan Kuczwara officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. until the hour of service. In Lieu of flowers a memorial will be established. Al's family extends deep gratitude to the staff and volunteers of Cherry Meadows Hospice for the compassionate friendship and loving care given to Al during the last 6 months of his life. Thanks to each and every one of the volunteers and staff for giving so much to Al in his final days here on earth.
