DAVID ERDMANN

David L. Erdmann, Menasha, passed away peacefully at home on May 20, 2011, after a 2-1/2 year battle with cancer. Born in Milwaukee on August 14, 1943, to Edward and Nancy (Roberts) Erdmann, Dave grew up in Menasha and served in the Army Reserves from 1964 to 1970. On April 23, 1966, he married his high school sweetheart, Sue Becker, at St. Timothys Lutheran Church in Menasha. Graduating from Menasha High School in 1962, Dave attended U of Wis. Oshkosh and started his career at the Bank of Menasha as a teller, progressing to Assistant Vice President. In 1976, along with some highly valued friends and associates, Dave founded Mailing and Printing Services which started with 10 employees. As company president, Dave helped the company grow and prosper. The company changed its name first to Outlook Graphics and then to Outlook Group and at times employed more than 1,000 employees. In 1991, Outlook Graphics went public on the stock market. In 1997, Dave purchased a division of Outlook Group in Oconomowoc, now named Lake Country Foods. In 2000, Dave founded National Graphic Solutions in Appleton, again with some highly valued friends and associates. Many of his former Outlook Group employees came to National Graphic Solutions to once again work with Dave. With his entrepreneurial talents, Dave was able to impact the lives of numerous people by providing employment which grew into many friendships. Dave served on many boards of directors, including the Menasha School Board for 9 years, also as the president, and the Board of his northern Wisconsin lake association. He coached his daughters soccer teams through Youth Sports. Daves hobbies include musky fishing at their northern Wisconsin (Vilas County) lake home and on lakes in Ontario and Montreal. He caught and released many muskies larger than 50 inches. This hobby led to his involvement and part ownership in a musky bait company, LeLure Tackle Company. In his younger years, Dave enjoyed tennis and golfing and had two holes in one. Dave was the pitcher and MVP of his high school baseball team. Dave was a man of high expectations and few words. When he talked, people listened. Dave was proud of his family; his grandchildren always put a smile on his face. In many peoples lives, he was a big piece of the puzzle. Dave will be lovingly missed by his wife of 45 years, Sue; his two daughters, Christina (Drew) Catron of Shoreview, MN, and Katherine (Eric) Dehn of DePere, WI; his four grandchildren, William and Emily Dehn and Samuel and Wren Catron; his sister, Jean (Jim) Evans of Neenah; his sisters-in-law Sally DeLisle (Alcide) of Georgia; Sandy (Alan) Rothlisberg of Kansas; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends/co-workers. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James. The funeral service will be held at 11:30 on May 24, 2011, at St. Timothys Lutheran Church, 473 Seventh St. in Menasha with the Reverend David Skarsten officiating. Friends may call at the church from 9:00 until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region (David L.
