EVERETT GILBERT

Everett L. Gilbert, age 97 of Neenah, passed away late Tuesday, May 31, 2011. He was born March 24, 1914 to the late Frank and Rosella (Knight) Gilbert in Fairchild, WI. Everett was a very family oriented man having grown up with seven brothers and sisters. He was very proud of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and enjoyed telling them all stories of years past. He began his career after graduating from 8th grade as a lumberjack. Eventually he joined the Army and served as an MP while stationed in Alaska. He then acquired a job at American Can in Neenah, where he raised his family. Everett is survived by his wife, Carol Jean Jeannie ; children: Jerry (Sharon) Gilbert; Tena (Mike) Manteufel; Everett James (Judy) Gilbert; grandchildren: Sheri (Don) Shambo; Kristin (Keith) Demann; Bob (Tracy) Maynard; Rod (Jessica Galeazzi) Maynard; Randy (Jessica) Maynard; Kevin Manteufel; great-grandchildren: Cody, Brady, and Jesse Shambo; Kade and Kenzie Demann; McKenzie Johnson; Brianna and Jacob Maynard. He is further survived by his 100 year old sister, Doris Thayer, and his 93 year old sister, Olive Mack; as well as many nieces and nephews, especially Victor (Doris) Gilbert. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Jerry; brothers Raymond Jim , and Harold; sisters: Edith, Vida, and Pearl. A memorial service will be held for Everett Friday, June 3, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. in Greenlawn Memorial Parks Chapel, Pastor Mike Huff officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Everetts name. The family would like to extend a warm thank you to the Theda Clark Central Nurses, the nursing staff at Vallhaven, and Everetts nurse and social worker through Lakeland, Danielle and Nicole. But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as EAGLES they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." Isaiah 40:31
