THOMAS SPILSKI

Spilski, Thomas G. Menasha Tom left this world after a wonderful, long life on Tuesday, June 1, 2011 at the age of 84 years. He was born on March 7, 1927 in Neenah, son of the late Ben and Anna (Zelinske) Spilski. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On April 14, 1956 he married Colleen Merrill, and the marriage was blessed with 42 years, five daughters, and three sons before she preceded him in death on April 28, 1998. He was a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service for 28 years. Tom enjoyed fishing, sports, travelling to Canada, tinkering with appliances, candy, and ice cream. Toms passing leaves one less sweet soul left on earth. He will be sadly missed by his daughters: Mary (special friend Paul Leroy) Spilski, Menasha, Ellen (special friend Terry Holewinski) Kissinger, Menasha, Susan Tutty (Bob Bubba ) Smith, Menasha, Kathleen Phil (Rob Rop ) Lesperance, Menasha, Ann Spilski, Menasha; sons: Patrick Pud , Town of Rome, Michael (Gale), Menasha, Thomas Jr. Franken (Tara), Menasha; grandchildren: Heather, Chris, Heidi, Jody, Robert, Corey, Colleen, Rochelle, Tyler, Brody, Carver, Rob, Tiffeni, Jill, Matt; many great grandchildren; his sister, Grace Haas, Darboy; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and his beloved wife, Colleen, he was preceded in death by his grandson, John Kissinger Jr.; brother, Clarence; son-in-law, John Kissinger Sr.; and his favorite dog Sam. The funeral service for Tom will be held on Friday, June 3, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at Menashas Westgor Funeral Home with Rev. James Plymire officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until the hour of service. Interment will be in St. Johns Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staffs of Oakridge Gardens and Theda Clark for their excellent care and compassion.
