ARTHUR BRANDENBURG

Arthur E. Brandenburg, 93, town of Menasha, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2011, at his home. Art was born August 16, 1917, in the town of Wolf River, the son of August and Dora (Zempel) Brandenburg. He was united in marriage to Valeria E. Wangelin on June 24, 1947, in Readfield. Prior to his retirement, Art was employed with the former Bergstrom/Glatfelter Paper Company and was a member of their Quarter Century Club. The Brandenburgs were members of Trinity Lutheran Church, Neenah, for many years, and Art was in the Mens Aid. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He was an avid golfer and bowler in his younger years. Card playing at the Brigade was his current favorite activity. Survivors include his beloved wife of 63 years, Valeria; two sons, Bill Brandenburg, town of Menasha, and Terry Brandenburg, West Allis; two granddaughters, Kristin Brandenburg and Karen Brandenburg, both of Milwaukee; a sister, Lucille Fisher, Neenah; and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Abraham, Fremont. He is further survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Art was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Lillian Wagner. The Christian Funeral Service for Art will be Thursday, June 16, 2011, 11:00 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, Neenah, with Rev. D.J. Engelbrecht officiating. Visitation will begin Thursday at 9:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at the church. Interment will be in the Wolf River Cemetery.
