Obituary
Carlton A. Hoppe, age 78 of Neenah, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2011 at Vallhaven Care Center. He was born April 13, 1933 to the late Alvin and Leona (Luebke) Hoppe in Polar WI. Hop was a very active man, having served in the Army and Signal Corps in Korea during the Korean War. He also served many years on the Neenah Police Boat and was a DNR boating instructor. When not on the water, he was very active with the Boys and Girls Brigade, serving as a volunteer for 55 years in the winter program, as a camp leader, and a Rough Craftsman at Camp Onaway. He was also a retired Banta Corp. employee. Hop is survived by his wife, Lois; his children: Jody Hoppe; Jon (Julie) Hoppe; two grandchildren: Sam and Katie Hoppe; brother, Oliver Hoppe; sisters-in-law: Jackie (James) Jones; Grace (Denis) Danielsen; Hazel (John) Lisk; Margie Ploor; Jeanette Verrier; Carol Mueller; Gertrude Mueller; Caroline Mueller; Ella Mueller. He was preceded in death by his son, Rick; and his brother, Clifford. A funeral service for Hop will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at 5:00 P.M. at Immanuel United Church of Christ, Neenah; Pastor Robin Reed officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials made to Immanuel United Church of Christ or Boys and Girls Brigade in Carltons name would be appreciated.
