LESTER MANTEUFEL

Lester John Manteufel, age 91, passed away Monday, March 30, 2009 at theValley VNA. He was born February 12, 1918 in the Town of Clayton, son of the late John and Ella (Luebke) Manteufel. He married Ruth Borchert on September 27, 1941 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clayton. She preceded him in death on February 19, 2000 after 59 years of marriage. Lester farmed in the Town of Clayton all of his life. He was a lifelong member of Immanuel Evangelical Church of Clayton. Lester is survived by a daughter, Yvonne (Eugene) Biettler, Neenah; two sons: Lyal Manteufel, Fond du Lac, Donald (Juli) Manteufel, Shiocton; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Huebner, Neenah; and his nephews. A funeral service for Lester will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 2, 2009, at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3703 W. Fairview Road, Neenah, with the Rev. Dale Zweig officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 9:00 am until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in his name. The family would like to thank the staff of Sapphire Villa of the Valley VNA, and Theda Care at Home Hospice for all their wonderful care.
