MARJORIE REINDERS

Marjorie L. Reinders, age 88, Oshkosh, passed away on June 9, 2012 at the home of her son David, Valencia, CA, after a brief illness. A lifelong resident of Winnebago County, she was born on October 30, 1923 to the late John and Lucy (Kaiser) Jensen. She was a graduate of Neenah High School. On May 3, 1947 she married the late Arthur H. Reinders at the Allenville Community Baptist Church where she was has attended and served throughout her life. Marge was employed by the DHIA (Dairy Herd Improvement Association) and later the ASCS (Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service) until her retirement. She actively served her community in a variety of organizations as well as volunteering at local events. She was a member of the Vinland Center Homemakers for over 60 years and served as Winnebago County President, and was an active participant as committee chairs as well as reading to Head-start children as part of the Homemakers First Book and Bookworms service projects. She was Clayton Town Treasurer for a number of years. Music was an important element of her life and included playing the piano and organ for over 50 years at the Allenville Community Baptist Church, at Grange functions and any time or place a pianist was needed. Until recently Margies Music was enjoyed by residents of Parkview Health Care Center. An active member of the LAMOPH (Ladies Auxiliary, Military order of the Purple Heart) for 60 years, she served and held numerous positions in the auxiliary at Unit and Department levels including being the Department of Wisconsin President from 2008-2011. Prior to her illness, she was the Patriotic Instructor, Parliamentarian, and Musician in the Department. She looked forward to representing the organization in local parades. She also was a member of the DAVA (Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary) and served in every office from Commander and Adjutant on down as a member of Oshkosh Chapter 17. She loved being involved in the Forget-me-not flower drives. A member of the Grange organization for over 50 years, she joined the Allenville Grange in 1946 and later the South Greenville Grange. People were her hobby. There is nothing she enjoyed more than spending time with others. She never met a stranger. Marge is survived by her children, Susan (Bob) Harmon, Walled Lake, Michigan, David (Anne) Reinders, Valencia, California; three grandchildren, Kristen (Andy) Holan, Alison Reinders, and David Reinders all of Valencia, California; two great- grandchildren, Emma and Elizabeth Holan. In addition, she is survived by nieces and nephews as well as many dear friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Reinders; brother, Alvin Jensen; nephew, Jack Jensen; and niece Judy (Gibson) Pahlow. The Funeral service for Marjorie will be held on Monday, June 18, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Allenville Community Baptist Church, 6629 Hilltop Road, Allenville. Visitation will be at Neenahs Westgor Funeral Home on Sunday, June 17, 2012 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and again on Monday, from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service directly at the church. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Neenah. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. We will always remember how you have imprinted our lives, Mom. Celebrating your life through tears and looking forward to a reunion with you and our precious Lord one day.
