CARL REETZ

Carl W. Reetz, Menasha, age 90, passed away unexpectedly with his family by his side on Sunday, December 20, 2009. He was born November 5, 1919 in Hebron, North Dakota, son of the late Ann Thuesen. Carl served in the US Army with the 95th Infantry Division serving under Gen. George Patton in Europe during WWII. He was the recipient of 2 Bronze Stars and 2 Purple Hearts. He was a life member of the DAV and a past Post Commander and life member of the VFW Post # 2126 of Menasha. And the worlds a little poorer, for a soldier died today. Carl married Lois Terrian on February 19, 1948 and they would have celebrated their 62nd anniversary. Carl owned and operated Carls Glass and Screen Repair in Menasha and also was employed and retired from the Menasha Sewage Treatment Plant. A loving husband, father and grandfather he will be sadly missed by his wife, Lois; three daughters: Carla (James) Reetz, Menasha, Wendy (Don) Rzentkowski, Neenah, Kathy Scheel, Neenah; three grandchildren: Jamie (Mary) Jurgella, Menasha, Hanna (Steve) Mantel, Neenah, Eric (Emily) Balthazor, Appleton; five great-grandchildren: Brady and Carley Jurgella, Maggie and Emma Mantel and Lola Balthazor. He was preceded in death by his mother and a sister, Viola (Robert) Doersch. Carls family would like to extend a sincere thank you to all of the staff at Vallhaven Care Center who took such good care of Carl for the past 4 years. In honor of Carls wishes, there will be no service held.
