JOAN WASKIEWICZ

Joan C. Waskiewicz, of Neenah, passed away following a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, September 27, 2011. She was born February 14, 1943 in Neenah, daughter of the late Bernard and Leone (Gajewski) Johnson. Joan married Martin Waskiewicz on November 14, 1964. She enjoyed her trips with her husband to Laughlin, NV. Joan also loved spending time with her family and grandchildren; cooking for the holidays and she was an avid Packer fan. Joan devoted the past 14 years caring for her husband, Marty. Joan was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Neenah. Survivors include her husband, Martin; two children: Tim (Sue) Waskiewicz, Neenah, Tracy (Tom) Groth, Neenah; two grandchildren: Tristan and Tevin Groth; two step-grandchildren: Mallory Mauthe, Stephanie Mauthe and special friend Steve Witston; a step-great-granddaughter, Suri Witston; a brother, Tom (Sherry) Johnson, Neenah; and a brother-in-law, Tom (Peg) Waskiewicz, Menasha. The Mass of Resurrection will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Neenah, with Fr. Larry Seidl officiating. The visitation will be at the church from Noon until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established in her name. Gods Masterpiece is Mother God took the fragrance of a flower, the majesty of a tree, the gentleness of morning dew, the calm of a quiet sea. The beauty of the twilight hour, the soul of a starry night, the laughter of the rippling brook, the grace of a bird in flight. Then God fashioned from these things a creation like no other. And when his masterpiece was through, He called it simply " Mother.
