GERALD QUARFORD

Gerald X. Gerry Quarford, of Menasha, age 86 passed away peacefully in his sleep and joined his Heavenly Father on Saturday, October 1, 2011. He was born May 15, 1925 in Crystal Falls, Michigan, son of the late Edward and Lucille (Fernstrom) Quarford. Gerry was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Army and was stationed in Europe. He married Jean Ann Kososky on August 14, 1948. He worked in the iron mines in Iron River, MI and then was employed with the Town of Menasha as Wastewater Superintendent until his retirement. Gerry enjoyed his family, friends, music, history and reading the newspaper. Survivors include his wife, Jean Ann; two sons: DonJIm (Karen) Quarford, Beaver Dam, Steve (Julie) Quarford, Neenah; five grandchildren: Jeremie (Pam) Birch, Jesse Quarford, Amie (Kenneth) Klockzien, Casey Quarford, Spencer Quarford; and four great-granddaughters. Gerry was preceded in death by a son, Edward; and two brothers: Beaumont and Edward. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at Menashas Westgor Funeral Home. The visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Full military rites will follow the service.
