FERN HANSON

Fern D. Hanson, age 77 of Neenah, passed away Wednesday, October 05, 2011. She was born March 19, 1934 to the late George and Fay (Goree) Mosher in Shawano. She married Lyle G. Hanson on November 12, 1950 in Navarino. They recently celebrated their 60th anniversary, and he preceded her in death May 5, 2011. Before Fern became fully retired, she spent many years working different jobs. She spent time working as an autoclaver for Theda Clark Medical Center, as well as working for Goodwill Industries and Standard Coleman Electronics. In her free time she traveled extensively and enjoyed fishing and boating. She was also a lover of playing cards and of animals, her favorite of which was her Yorkie, Tuffy. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Neenah, and also volunteered for the Time-Warner Senior Showcase. Survivors include her daughter: Shelia (Roger) Neubauer, Pickett; son, Lyle, Jr. (Barbara) Hanson, Town of Menasha; two grandchildren: Gina (Matthew) Lingnofski and Derrick (Jennifer) Hanson; three great-grandchildren: Audrey, Claire, and Tyler Lingnofski. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friends Allen (Sally) Merrill and Milford (Joan) Herreid. She was preceded in death by her sisters: Mildred and Effie; and brothers: Robert, Kenneth, and Raymond Mosher. A Memorial Service for Fern will be held Tuesday, October 18, 2011, 11:30 A.M., at First United Methodist Church, Neenah, with Revs. Grace Imathiu, Tony Fuller, and Jeff McGregor officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service. Entombment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church Building Fund in Ferns name.
