ROBERT WINARSKI

Robert F. Winarski, age 83, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 24, 2011 at Theda Clark Medical Center. He was born on March 18, 1928 in Neenah, son of the late Paul and Wanda (Sheleski) Winarski. Bob graduated from Menasha High School with the class of 1946. On January 19, 1954 he married Marjorie J. Thomack in Fort Lee, Virginia. The marriage was blessed with three sons and they celebrated 57 years together. Bob was employed by International Wireworks (later Albany International) and retired from Albany International in 1996 after 46 years of service. During his tenure there, he was called upon to serve our country with the U.S. Army during the Korean Era. Bob served as an Alderman in the City of Menasha for 12 years. He enjoyed politics, collecting coins, golfing, watching sports, especially the Packers, and loved time spent with his granddaughters. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Marjorie; his sons: Stu (Kathy) Winarski, of Shawano, Todd, of Neenah, Greg, of Shawano; his granddaughters: Alyx (Nick) Simons, of Oshkosh, Kacy Winarski, of Milwaukee, Brianna and Taylor Winarski, of Hortonville; his brother, Donald Winarski, of Menasha; his mother-in-law, Anna Thomack, of Neenah; sisters-in-law: Jackie Winarski, of Neenah, Gertrude Wilkes, of Houston, TX, Jeanette Prey, of Neenah, Sandra (Randy) Popp, of Neenah; brothers-in-law: Will (Marilyn) Thomack, of Waupaca, Bob (Janet) Thomack, of Sheboygan; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Gertrude (Jim) VandenBoom; brothers: Erwin Winarski, Marvin Winarski, Eugene Winarski; father-in-law, Paul Thomack; sister-in-law, Betty Winarski; and brothers-in-law: Gene Wilkes and Jerry Prey. The Funeral Service for Robert will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Neenahs Westgor Funeral Home with Father Norm Krutzik officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Interment will be in St. Johns Cemetery in Menasha. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in his name.
