PAUL GIDLOF

Paul Nels Gidlof, age 84, Neenah, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at Theda Clark Medical Center. He was born February 18, 1925 in Stephenson, MI; son of the late Amandus and Linnea (Wickstrom) Gidlof. He married Pauline Cotter on August 14, 1950 also in Stephenson, MI. Paul served in the US Army, being stationed in Alaska. He was employed with American Can Company for over 40 years until his retirement in 1988. He had a love for music and was a talented musician. He enjoyed singing, bowling, golfing, and watching sports. Paul was a member of Faith United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Pauline, two children: Dennis (Sally) Gidlof, Debbie (Mark) Williams; three grandchildren: Travis Stuck, Evan (April) Gidlof, Allison Gidlof; two great-grandchildren: Logan Batley, River Stuck; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Gidlof. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Bertil and Clarence. A Funeral Service for Paul will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at Faith United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mary Council-Austin officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the hour of service. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established for the church.
