MERLIN JENSEN

Merlin W. Jensen, age 89, of Neenah passed away peacefully on Monday evening, December 19, 2016 at Theda Clark Medical Center.  He was born on March 21, 1927 in Shawano, Wisconsin son of the late Alfred and Selma (Krueger) Jensen.  After graduation from Shawano High School, Merlin enlisted with the U.S. Navy, and proudly served his country during WWII aboard the U.S.S. Wisconsin.  On February 14, 1950 he married Rosanna M. Lorge at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Menasha, Wisconsin.  The couple was blessed with one beloved daughter, Bonnie, and 66 wonderful years of marriage.  Merlin was a machine operator at Kimberly Clark for 39 years.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and time spent at their cottage by Fay Lake in Florence County, Wisconsin.  Merlin was a very hard-working, thoughtful man who always kept himself busy fixing something.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rosanna; several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Bonnie Dreifuerst; brother, Leroy (Dorothy) Jensen; half sister, Violet (Harry) Lindow.

Merlin's wish was to be cremated and to be laid to rest in Neenah's St. Margaret Cemetery.  Inurnment with full military honors will take place at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Alzheimer's Association in Merlin's name.
