FRANCES WAITROVICH

Frances Josephine Waitrovich, age 92, formerly of Niagara, Wisconsin, passed away on January 9, 2009. She presently resided at Evergreen Retirement Community in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. However, she still considered Niagara her home, and constantly inquired about her house, neighborhood, friends, relatives and town. Frances was born in Iron River, Michigan on December 26, 1916, and graduated from high school there. Her father, Frank Kunchynski, was a lumberjack, and ran logging camps throughout the Upper Peninsula. Her mother, Katherine (Zaidel) Kunchynski, was from Lena, Wisconsin. Frances married August Edward Waitrovich (Midge) on September 16, 1939. They celebrated 46 ½ years together. August died March 12, 1986. He was employed by Ford Motor Company in Kingsford, Michigan and Kimberly Clark Corp. in Niagara. They met when Frances worked at the Kimlark Inn in Niagara. Frances and August had two children, Dr. Lawrence W. Waitrovich, wife, Carol (Leffel), of Dunnellon, Florida, and Menasha; and Anita Rose Krenke, husband, Keith, of Berlin, Wisconsin. Frances is survived by five grandchildren: Pamela (Michael) Begeman, Lori (David) Havener, Todd (Kerry) Waitrovich, Cindy (Ken) Brzank, and Steven Sanders. She also has nine great-grandchildren: Allison and Kailey Gursoy, Megan and Sara Havener, Zachery, Josephine, and Benjamin Waitrovich, and Morgan and Connor Brzank. Frances is also survived by a sister, Antoinette Sova, of Iron River, Michigan, and one sister-in-law, Margaret (Frank) Waitrovich, of Neenah, Wisconsin. Frances was preceded in death by her parents and husband, two brothers: Chester and Leonard Kunchynski, and two sisters: Marion Goriesky and Valeria Anderson. The Funeral Mass for Frances will be celebrated on Monday, January 12, 2009, 11:00 AM, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 900 Geiger St., Neenah, with Rev. Richard L. Allen as celebrant. Visitation will at the church on Monday and begin at 10:00 AM until the hour of service. Interment will be in the Niagara Cemetery. The family would like to thank Evergreen Retirement Community and staff for providing such a wonderful environment and care for Frances during her stay at the Sharehaven and Creeks facility.
