MARCELLA WILLIAMS

Marcella (Sally) Williams, age 96, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 6, 2011, with her daughter and Dick by her side at Villa St. Clare in Neenah where she has resided for the past two years. Sally was born on December 29, 1914, to Anton and Martha (Thalke) Marx in Neenah. She attended St. Mary Grade School and graduated from Menasha High School, Class of 1933. Sally married Milton Williams on October 6, 1936. He preceded her in death in 1982. Sally was a very loving and caring person. She loved taking care of her family and always put them first. She enjoyed entertaining, especially at their cottage on Lake Poygan and loved it when Scott and Jeff came. Favorite memories there were spending time on their boat My Gal Sal. Sallys hobbies were gardening, embroidery and playing canasta with her lady friends in her earlier years. She also enjoyed watching the birds and had a special love for cardinals. The highlight of her day was spending time with little poopy , Daisy. Sally is survived by her daughter (her angel) Patricia (Dick) Schramm, Neenah; two grandsons, Scott Sommer, New Mexico, and Jeff (Cherrie) Sommer, Georgia; granddaughter, Jacqueline (Tim) ORorke, New Berlin; six great-grandchildren: Justin, Trace, Scott, Cassandra, McKenzie, and Hunter. A very dear friend of over 60 years, Anne Rose; special niece, Sue Marx; special friend, Molly Mahnke; two wonderful and caring neighbors, Frank and Dick Wilms; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Richard; nine brothers and sisters: Joe, Edmund, Paul, Howard, Roman, Harold, Martha Marx, Caroline Bauer, and Marion Fredericks. The Funeral Service for Sally will be Saturday, May 14, 2011, 1:00 p.m., at First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Richard J. Moore officiating. Visitation will begin at the church Saturday from noon until the hour of the service. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Sallys honor has been established for Villa St. Clare and Hospice Advantage. Sallys family would like to extend a very special Thank You to all the staff at Villa St. Clare for the wonderful care and love they gave Sally; a very special Thank You to Lisa and her staff from Hospice Advantage for their attentive care and support these last few months; and Thank You to Pastor Richard Moore for all his visits the past few years.
