KATHRYN SODERMARK

Kathryn Kathy A. Sodermark, age 76, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 7, 2011. She was born on November 19, 1934 in Menasha, daughter of the late Galen W. and Margaret (Deetz) Unser. She had been a Neenah resident for over 50 years. Kathy married Alvin Sodermark on April 16, 1955, in Winneconne. She held waitress positions at several establishments as well as a bookkeeper for Drucks Electric, Menasha and Lakeroad Lanes, Neenah. She was an avid bowler and Life Member of the Central Fox Valley Womens Bowling Association, Member Emeritus in the Wisconsin Womens Bowling Association as well as Past President, and Life Member of the Womens International Bowling Congress. She received many special honors during her bowling career and her greatest achievement was rolling a 700 Series. She enjoyed spending time up nort with family and friends, golfing and crocheting. Her greatest love besides Daddy Al and her children was her dog, Angel. She was an avid Packer fan and especially admired QB Bart Starr. She was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Neenah. Survivors include four daughters: twins, Vicki (Jim) Griffen, Neenah; Sheri (Mark) Jacobs, Appleton; Juli (Lonnie) Huff, Neenah; Mary (Rick) Pittman, Lexington, Kentucky; two sisters: Rosemary (Robert) Davis, Oshkosh; Betty (John) Yost, Omro; three brothers: William (Mary) Unser, Clermont, FL; Richard (Sarah) Unser, Orlando, FL; David (Rita) Unser, Cape Coral, FL; seven grandchildren: Jenny (Eric) Seiler; Megan Olson; Connie (Phil) Tocco; Heather (Chad) Woehler; Kim (Eric) Uitenbroek; Chris Rankin, and Brooke (Brian Utley) Rankin; five great-grandchildren: Aubre, Autumn, Christian, Ella and Ashton; four step-great-grandchildren: Nerissa, Madison, Jocelyn and Ryan. She was also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin; parents, Galen W. and Margaret Unser; and a brother, Joe Unser. The Mass of Resurrection for Kathy will be held Friday, May 13, 2011, at 11:30 A.M. at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Neenah with Rev. Richard L. Allen officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Neenahs Westgor Funeral Home and again at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Menasha. The family wishes to thank Dr. Turk, the 5th floor nursing staff, and Pat Dininkel from Theda Clark Medical Center, Neenah and the staff at Park View Health Center, Oshkosh for making her final days with us comfortable. When we think of you in silence and often speak your name, all thats left to answer is your picture in a frame. Our hearts are full of sadness, our eyes are full of tears, if only God could have spared you for just a few more years. We know you walk beside us and when our life is through, we pray that God will take our hand and lead us straight to you. Until then, to your grave well go and place your flowers with care. But no one knows the heartache as we turn and leave you there. So one day at a time is the way we will abide until once again we will be walking side by side.
