Obituary
Vanda A. Evenstad, of Menasha, age 95 passed away surrounded by family on Sunday, April 15, 2012. She was born August 6, 1916 in the Town of Vinland, daughter of the late John and Pauline (Miller) Kresse. Vanda married Jack Evenstad on December 13, 1941 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Neenah. She was employed as a Registered Nurse at Theda Clark Hospital until her retirement in 1978. Vanda was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Survivors include her loving husband of 70 years, Jack; three children: John (Margaret) Evenstad, Thomas (Marilyn) Evenstad, James (Janet) Evenstad; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Catherine Ann; and a brother, Tennis Kresse. Vandas wishes were to be cremated and the family will have a private service. Interment will be in Grace Lutheran Cemetery in Winchester.

Mom, You will be missed; you will always be in my heart. I know that you are in heaven with Jesus. I thank you for encouraging me to read the Bible from a very early age. I also want to thank you and Dad for taking the time to encourage me to sit and watch Billy Graham televised crusades with you in the 1960's while I was still at home. Mom, you were always a compassionate and caring person, and nursing was a good occupational fit for you. We as Christians believe that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. You exhibited a lifelong faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. By the grace and mercy of God we will rejoice in God's presence together forever.
