DOROTHY ENGBLOM

Dorothy (Dottie) A. Engblom, 71, Appleton, passed away peacefully to the Lord, Friday, Nov. 5, 2010, with her loving family at her side. Dottie was born March 23, 1939, in the Township of Wolf River, Wis., daughter of the late Irvin and Alvina Wendel. She was raised in Hortonville, Wis. In 1958, she married Ronald Much, and the marriage ended in 1977. She later married David Engblom, and they were together until his death in 1999. In 1989, Dottie began providing loving care to her patients with the Valley VNA. She loved her work and continued there until one month prior to her passing. She was loved very much and will be deeply missed by her co-workers and her patients. As children, we watched our Mother devour cookbooks as though they were great novels. Cooking was her passion. She loved and was so proud to do the cooking for so many of our family's special events. Dottie was very proud of her children, and all the special artistic talents of the family. She so very much loved attending all of the many musical performances of her grandchildren. She took great delight in giving her grandchildren special gifts. Dottie loved her family, her dear friends, her co-workers and patients, and her beloved kitty Panther. Mom was our greatest teacher, teaching us that LOVE CONQUERS ALL. The Angels have come to bring you home to Jesus. May you now rest in peace with Lord, Dearest Mom. Dottie is survived by her children, Tammy Bieberstein, Susan Sprangers, DeeAnna (John) Lichtenberg, Nicole (Ralph) Schultz, Lisa (Robert) Kober, Brian (Anne) Much, Renee (Todd) Golden, Skeeter (Mark) Abrahamson, and Joshua Much. She is further survived by 12 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren and a great granddaughter. Dottie was preceded in death by her husband David Engblom, her parents Irvin and Alvina Wendel, 2 sons in law, Hans Bieberstein and Mark Sprangers and her grandson Justin Sprangers. A funeral service for Dottie will be held Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Eternal Love Lutheran Church, Appleton, Rev. Robert Balza officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until the hour of service. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society in Dotties name would be appreciated. Our deepest gratitude to all of the wonderful staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital, who provided such kind care and support to our Mother and her family, during this past difficult week of her life.
