THOMAS DEBRAAL

Thomas F. DeBraal, age 64, passed away unexpectedly after a short illness on November 6, 2010 at St. Elizabeth Hospital with his family at his side. Tom was born October 4, 1946 in Neenah to the late Earl and Irma (Kirch) DeBraal. He married Peggy Dombeck on April 30, 1966 at St. Marys Church in Menasha. Tom was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved and cherished his grandchildren. They were his pride and joy. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Tom served in the United States Marine Corps for four years and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked for 27 years at Metso in Neenah as a machinist/assembler. Tom was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church in Menasha. He was very giving of his time and was active in the church and community; always willing to help others. One of his passions was working for the St. Vincent de Paul Society in various capacities including President of the St. Marys Conference and serving as a member of the Neenah-Menasha District Council. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Tom is survived by his wife of 44 years, Peggy; daughter Sara (John) Anderson; sons: J.C. (Tanya) DeBraal; and Mark DeBraal; grandchildren: Tyler and Emilie Anderson; and Nicholas and Brandon DeBraal; sister-in-law Barb (Don) Carpenter; brother-in-law Jack (Nancy) Dombeck; sister-in-law Mary DeBraal; and brother-in-law Harvey Werbelow. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Don and Ira DeBraal; and sister Joyce Werbelow, as well as father and mother-in-law John and Louise Dombeck. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at 11:30 A.M. at St. Marys Catholic Church, Menasha, Rev. Robert Lexa officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. until the hour of service. We would like to thank the ICU staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital, especially Vicki, Dana, and Emily for their concern, compassion and loving care.
