Obituary
James Elmer Jeske, of Appleton, age 55, passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, November 9, 2010, following a battle with cancer. He was born April 23, 1955 in Appleton, son of Elmer and Sylvia (DeGroat) Jeske. Jim loved spending time going on adventures in the outdoors with his family. His greatest passion was telling people how they could have a personal relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This passion for Jesus was seen in the way he influenced the teenagers he worked with at his church. Along with some friends, Jim started a not-for-profit organization call Faith In Action. This ministry travels around the world sharing Christs love. FIA has constructed orphanages, churches, hospitals and other buildings for Gods glory. He and his brother operated The Jeske Company, a hardware supply company. Survivors include his wife, Carol Jeske; a son, Mark and Alisa Jeske; a daughter, Bethany and Jeff Swanstrom; four grandchildren: Carson, Grant, Owen and Jena Swanstrom; his mother, Sylvia Jeske; a brother, Jay (Paula) Jeske; and two sisters: Barbara Jeske, Darlene Jeske. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Jeske. A Celebration of Jims life will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2010, at 4:00 p.m. at Calvary Bible Church, 1450 Oakridge Rd., Neenah, with Dr. Harry Shields officiating. The visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 1:30 p.m. until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, it is the familys desire that donations be made to Faith In Action. Trips will continue without Jim and the next construction trip is planned for Ghana, Africa in February. Tax-deductible donations go directly to purchasing materials for the construction projects.
