Obituary
Virginia Eloise Anderson, age 84, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2010 at Heartwood Homes in Appleton. She was born on July 10 1926, in Oshkosh, WI to Peter and Josephine Goerlitz. Virginia graduated Oshkosh High School in 1944. Like many young people of her era, Virginia loved to dance and it was at an American Legion dance where she met her future husband, Donald Anderson. After their marriage on September 22, 1945, they farmed the family dairy farm which eventually became Anderson Sod Farm. Virginia and Dan were members of Grace Lutheran Church in Winchester and they enjoyed many years as members of the choir there. Virgini a loved to decorate and set about remodeling the old family farm house early in their marriage. With imagination and skill she turned this old house into a beautiful and modern home. While raising their three children, Bonnie, Vicki and Jack, Virginia worked as Personnel Secretary at Bergstrom Paper. After her children left home, she acquired her real estate broker's license and worked for Century 21 Rollie Winters Realtors. A talented cook, Virginia loved to entertain her family and friends. From corn roasts to Hawaiian Luaus, she planned great parties. It was her attention to detail that made her parties special. Virginia also loved crafts and over the years made beautiful ceramics, Christmas wreaths and needlework. Later in life Virginia and Don traveled throughout the U.S, across Europe and enjoyed their winter home in Arizona. Virginia is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Bonnie and Steve Campbell, Vicki and Ernie Ginter; her daughter-in-law, Cynthy Anderson; Grandchildren, Hans Hemes, Heidi (Tom) Keating, Gretchen (Rick) Lyons, Ted (Patty) Campbell, Austin (Anna) Campbell, Blake Anderson, Dylan Anderson; Great-Grandchildren, Jack and Rosie Keating, Halle and McKenna Campbell, and Natalia Campbell. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Donald; her son, Jack Anderson, her mother, Josephine Goerlitz, her father, Peter Goerlitz, her brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Colleen Goerlitz and Mike and Bernice Goerlitz, and sister and brother-in-law, Amber and Clarence Spalding. The Funeral Service for Virginia will be Tuesday, December 14, 2010, 11:00 a.m., at Grace Lutheran Church, Winchester, with Rev. Dan Luett officiating. The visitation will begin Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. at the church until the hour of the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials in Virginia's honor are being established by her family for Alzheimer's Association research and Heartland Hospice of DePere. The family thanks the staff at Heartwood Homes for their loving care over the past five years.
