ARCHIE POLAR

Archie L. Polar, of Menasha, age 59, passed away Friday, July 19, 2013 at Theda Clark Medical Center, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born March 21, 1954 in Tomahawk, WI, son of Douglas Polar Sr. and Darlene Hintze. Archie married Julie Van De Hey on April 14, 1972. His passions were hunting, fishing, spending time at his cabin up north in Phelps, WI, NASCAR and the Green Bay Packers. Archie will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 41 years, Julie; his son, Dean Polar; two granddaughters: Jordan and Ruby; his mother, Darlene Bauer, Stockbridge; a brother, Douglas (Joan) Polar JR., Merrill, WI; three sisters: Cheryl (Jerry) Ulschmidt, Merrill, Kari Polar, Merrill, Wendy (Mike) Bodway, Menasha; five nephews: Patrick Polar, Wausau, Jerome (Robin) Ulschmidt, Merrill, Jason (Deana) Jankowsky, Gleason, WI, Jeremy (Kelly) Jankowsky, Wausau, Dale Polar, Menasha and Jessica Briskie, Menasha; his dearest friends, Mick and Deb Gifford and the Gifford family; along with many who worked with Archie at the Neenah Joint School District; and his beloved cat, Noggie. A celebration of his life will be held at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at Menashas Westgor Funeral Home. The visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4:00 PM until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established in his name. Archies family would like to thank the ICU staff at Theda Clark Medical Center for taking great care of him through his courageous battle.
