DOROTHY KEMP

Dorothy G. (Bennett) Kemp, age 93 of Neenah, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2016. She was born in Glenbulah, WI on September 25, 1923 to the late John and Emma Bennett, and married Albert R. Kemp on June 17, 1944 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Neenah, and retired in 1986 after working many years for Electronics Assembly.

Mom was such a kind-hearted soul; she would do anything for anybody. She loved to bake, and made the best oatmeal and molasses cookies ever. In healthier times, she loved to dance, take walks in the woods, pick blackberries, and spend time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: Keith (Kay) Kemp, Menasha; Kurt (Pam) Kemp; six grandchildren: Tina Troy (Tom); Jeff Krahn (Wendy); Nicole (John) Burkhart; Andy (Ashley) Kemp; Danny Kemp; and Becky Kemp (Corey); seven great-grandchildren: Bradley, Sarah, Emma, Gracie, Nolan, Graeden, and Kendal; and one great-great-grandson, Zeke. She is further survived by her son-in-law, Richard Krahn; sister-in-law, Ruth Bennett; brother-in-law and his wife, Harold and Lois Kemp; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Al in 2002; her daughter Gloria in 2005; her brothers: Bill (Lilian) Bennett; John Bennett, Jr; and her sister, Beatrice (Harvey) Kennedy; as well as by her in-laws: Duke and Ella Dennis; and Arthur “Bub” and Jan Kemp.

The funeral service for Dorothy will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until the hour of service. Dorothy will be laid to rest alongside Al in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Neenah.

The family would like to thank the staff at Prairie Homes – House of Joy, for their compassion, loving care, and kindness towards Dorothy the last 4+ years. Dorothy was diagnosed with Dementia/Alzheimer's in 2012, yet she continued to enjoy the visits from family and friends.

Thank you also to the Theda Care at Home Hospice caregivers for making Dorothy comfortable the last few weeks.

And also, thank you to Tina for all the help she gave to Grandma. Making sure she got to her doctor appointments, had enough supplies on hand and watching over her with a granddaughter's love.
