EVELYN TORNOW

Absent from the body, present with the Lord. (2 Cor 5:8) Evelyn Tornow, age 88 of Neenah, went to sleep Wednesday, December 29, 2010, and is reunited with her sisters who went before her: Marion, Lois, and Ruth. She has longed to talk to them again! Evelyn was born February 26, 1922, to the late Fredrick and Elsa (Gaudian) Reichel; married October 16, 1948, to Louis Melvin Tornow. Evelyn was a longtime member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Neenah. She was also a WWII veteran, having served as a Navy WAVE, stationed in San Diego. Survivors include: her husband, Louis Tornow; two daughters: Gail Tornow, Abby and Jeff Lingnofski; two granddaughters: Leah Lingnofski, Rebecca and Nate Johnson; her sister, Esther Coenen; two brothers: Fritz and Betty Reichel, Ron and Chris Reichel. She is further survived by in-laws Robert Tornow and Bertha Koepke, many nieces, nephews and friends. A memorial service for Evelyn will be held Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Neenah, Rev. Catherine A. K. Mode officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. at church until the hour of service. Inurnment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Our Savior Lutheran Church in Evelyns name would be appreciated. Evelyns family would like to thank the Brewster Village residents and staff of Outagamie Place for their friendship, respect, and loving care.
