JAMES WATERS

James Brian Waters, formerly of Menasha, died peacefully at his home in White Lake, WI, with his family at his side on Saturday, January 8, 2011. Jim was born on November 3, 1940; son of the late Frank and Catherine (Heitl) Waters. He married Sharon Liebergen on November 7, 1964 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Appleton. Jim graduated from Menasha High School in 1960, served in the Army from 1960 to 1963, serving in Korea, was an active member of the Knights of Columbus-Nicolet Council 1838 and American Legion post 524. Jim retired from the Menasha Utilities in 1997. Jim also served as Vice-President of the Wolf River chapter of Trout Unlimited, and was instrumental in its reorganization. Jim was a life-long member of St. Marys Catholic Church in Menasha until he and Sharon moved to White Lake 13 years ago, then he became a member of St. James Catholic Church, where he was a member of the Parish Council and a minister of The Word. He organized and ran a Bible study out of his home in Menasha for 25 years. Jim was a faithful servant of the Lord and lived his life sharing the gospel, singing His praise and his love of Christ. Jim is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sharon; son, Tim (Carrie Faubel), daughter, Wendy (Jeff Schneider), and grandchildren: Jacob Schneider, Laura Schneider, Matthew Schneider, Daniel Schneider, Leroy Waters, Nathan Waters, Katie Mae Waters and great-grandchild Izaak Schneider. He is also survived by brothers: Chip (Barb) Waters, Doug (Paula) Waters, Don (Colleen) Waters; sisters: Pat (Bill) Laemmrich, Suzanne (Bill) Sund, Kathryn (Ted) Westgor, Jeanne (Bill) Craig, Colleen (Mike) Vindhurst; and sisters-in-law: Donna Lesselyong, Vonnie Hillman, Joannie (Marvin) Heller, Karen (Randy) Kempf, Mary (Kraig) Ruhnke and Julie Waters, as well as an aunt, Margaret Damie. Jim is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Catherine, infant sisters: Frances and Margaret, brother Bill, father and mother-in-law Harold and Stella Liebergen, brothers-in-law: Tom Hillman, Tom Lesselyong, Tony Sajdak, Dick Vandehey, Wally Meyer and a nephew, Scotty Laemmrich. The Funeral Mass for Jim will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2011, 12:00 Noon, at St. James Catholic Church, 252 Bissell Street, White Lake, WI, with Fr. David Kiefer officiating; the visitation will be at the church from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service. Interment will be in St. Marys Cemetery, Menasha, on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established for the LeRoyer Hospice. The family would like to thank Sister Adele and Sister Delores of LeRoyer Hospice, and all of the nurses at the Langlade Cancer Center (Dr. He), and Langlade Hospital (Dr. Hegranes).
