Obituary

Lee Ann Rosenow (Schliem), Post Lake, WI, formally from Neenah, age 69, passed peacefully after a brief illness. Lee Ann was a wonderful wife, mother and good friend to many. She was born June 30, 1943 at Theda Clark in Neenah to Lloyd & Jewel Schliem. Graduate of Menasha High School, in 1961, she was very close to many of her classmates. She started work soon after high school at Thorp Financial Inc. in Neenah. She continued employment there for many years until taking time off to raise a family. She drove school bus part time until her son was old enough, then continued her career at Wisconsin Paper Council in Neenah, where she retired in 1999. Retired life lead her and her husband George to Elcho, Wisconsin where they made their summer home a permanent residence, on Lower Post Lake. Lee Ann enjoyed staying busy. She was always involved in something but being active with the First United Methodist Church of Neenah and the Neenah/Menasha Elks with her husband, George, were two of the things that made her happy. Golf and bowling leagues were also a large part of her early life. She also enjoyed spending weekends "Up North". Retirement brought an even more full social calendar. Jammed packed is more what you should call it. So much so, that the complete list of activities is difficult to compile. Lee Ann was an active member of the PLIA(Post Lake Improvement Association). This meant many meetings, fundraisers and hours of work to make their lake a better place to be. She was very involved with the lake weed harvester, even running it at times. Golf again became important to her later in her life as it meant spending time with George and other good friends. She volunteered at the local food pantry and worked for a while in the cafeteria at the Elcho High School. She enjoyed going to Body Recall class and quilting with other local ladies. She became a very active member of the United Church of Christ in Elcho, WI, where she made numerous great friends. She was a very avid reader and was heavily involved in a local book club. She enjoyed rides on their pontoon boat and fishing with her husband. The various north woods casinos consumed many exciting hours winning and losing with her good friends. Lee Ann had a knack for winning and it drove her friends crazy at times. Survivors include her husband, George; her son, Michael Rosenow, Oshkosh; a sister, Mary Rush, Green Bay; and her cat, Lily. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd & Jewel (Zeliska) Schliem; twin sister, Lana (Schliem) Remick; a sister, L. Jean Schliem; her brother, Brad Schliem. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 28, 2012, at Resthaven Cemetery, Neenah, WI, with the Rev. Jack Lamar officiating. There will be a reception following at Rick's Reunion Station in Neenah. A memorial service will then take place at the United Church of Christ in Elcho, WI, at 11:30 A.M. on Aug 18, 2012 with the Rev. Jack Lamar officiating. There will be a reception following at the Elcho Clubhouse. The family requests in lieu of flowers that a donation is made to the American Cancer Society " Hope Lodge in Marshfield in Lee Anns name. Please send to: ACS - Hope Lodge, 611 W. Doege Street, Marshfield, WI 54449

George, my sympathy to you and your family. I loved working with Lee Ann when she was in our Elks Ladies group (I followed her as President and she made it easy for me). I know you two enjoyed life on Post Lake and she will be missed. Sincerely, Diane Kulick
