THOMAS TOWNS

Thomas A. Towns Tommy, age 75 of Neenah, WI passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on August 2nd, 2012. Tommy Towns was born June 6, 1937 at Mount Morris, IL to the late John E. and Esther (Keller) Towns and moved to Winnebago County with his family in 1944. Tommy graduated from Neenah High in 1955. Tommy served 4 years with the Navy Reserves. Tommy retired in 1996 after 41 years at Kimberly Clark. Tommy loved to hunt and fish so much, he taught hunters education and loved to pass on his knowledge to anyone. He was a lifetime motorcycle enthusiast and raced as well as cruised the countryside. He was a lifetime member of Harley and Norton motorcycle groups. Thomas also held a lifetime membership with the National Rifle Association. A friend of Bills, Thomas was active in the AA community and wished to express his gratitude for the support he received during his 27 years of sobriety. Thomas is survived by three brothers; Robert F. (Anita), Waupaca, John E. Jr.(Pat), Neenah, and James P., Oshkosh. Surviving children are; Cynthia, A., Chillicothe, OH, Diana L., Black Creek, WI, David D., Oshkosh, WI, Stephan L., Phillips, WI, Daniel J., Neenah, WI, Sandra J., Hancock, WI and Chelsie E.G. , Appleton, WI, along with 19 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Thomas was preceded in death by his wife Janet and their son Tommy Towns, Jr., a grandson, Joshua Mulligan, a great granddaughter, Molly Mulligan. The Memorial Service for Tommy will be held on Friday, August 10, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Neenahs Westgor Funeral Home with Rev. Martin Ruge officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
