ROSE MCCARRY

Rose Edith McCarry Rose McCarry age 97, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Sterling House of Neenah. Rose was born December 4, 1914, in Ozark, Michigan, the daughter of George and Anna (Maul) Rapson. Rose graduated from Sault Ste. Marie High School, also attended college in Sault Ste. Marie. Rose was united in marriage to Randolph A. McCarry Sr. (who preceded her in death) on September 24, 1935 in Trout Lake, Michigan. Together they raised two sons; Randolph A. McCarry Jr. and Richard A. McCarry. Following her retirement from Robert Hall clothier of Flint, Michigan, Rose and Randy moved to Arizona and then to Florida for many years. Rose was active in the Eastern Star and earned the honor of Worthy Matron. While in Florida Rose organized and led an exercise class for the retirement community, participated in a Kitchen Band which marched in parades and played concerts at the Florida State Fair and at nursing facilities. Rose was very talented in quilting and uncountable other crafts. Rose dearly loved her children and grandchildren and is survived by one son, Randolph (Patricia) McCarry of Neenah, Daughter-in-law Barbara McCarry of Atlanta, Michigan; seven grandchildren; Craig (Mary) McCarry, Linda (Rob) Srnka, Ron (Tammy) McCarry, Rob (Nancy) McCarry, all of Neenah, and Sue (John) Prellwitz of Malone, Wisconsin, Belinda (Savone) Schrader, and Cinda Savone of Atlanta, Michigan, also one sister; Ruth Hammer, Richland, Washington. There are also nineteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. In addition to her parents and husband Rose was also preceded in death by one son; Richard McCarry, three brothers; Roy, Chester, and Leonard Rapson, four sisters; Lottie Laakanen, Florence Barrett, Ida McMillan, and Della Lake. The memorial service for Rose will be held on Monday, August 20, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Neenahs Westgor Funeral Home. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Interment will be in Clayton Cemetery. Rose was a resident of Sterling House Assisted Living for four months during which time the staff and fellow residents became a very special extension of her family. We are most grateful for the wonderful and compassionate care she received during her stay.
