Obituary
Elizabeth M. Betty Lee, Neenah, age 76, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 9, 2009. Elizabeth was born December 13, 1932 in Fox Valley, Saskatchewan, Canada; daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Steichen) Buettner. She married Lawrence Lee and he preceded her in death. Elizabeth and Lawrence operated the Cellar Bar in Larsen, WI, and then the Stop N Go Tavern in the Town of Clayton. She had a great sense of humor and loved to use the full range of the English language. Elizabeth loved to travel, dance, play cards, and any other games of chance. She was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church of Clayton. Elizabeth was an independent woman who knew how to take charge and lived life fully on her own terms. Her faith gave her strength throughout her life and she will be deeply missed by those who knew her. Survivors include a special friend, Donald Skaar; a daughter, Brenda Schroeder; a son, Brian (Anne) Leach; daughter-in-law, Sandy (Russ) Nikodem; a grandson, Steven Lee; two sisters: Theresa Gertner of Alberta, Catherine Kay Fredrickson, Ontario; eight step-grandchildren: Dean (Renee) Kaufert, Lynn (Rene) DeLaCruz, Kelli Kitzerow, Gary (Anne) Kaufert, Lee (Jean Ann) Schroeder, Scott (Sue) Kaufert, Jon Westbrook, Aaron Westbrook. She is further survived by step-great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; a son, Bruce Lee; a grandson, Shawn Schroeder; son-in-law, Marshall Schroeder; five brothers: Paul, Frank, George, William and Anton; and two sisters: Margaret ONeill and Mary Zsednai. At the request of Elizabeth a private family service was held. Mom, we will always love you and remember you. The family wishes to thank Pastor Dale Zwieg of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church and ThedaCare Hospice for all of their care.
