Obituary
Geoffrey A. London, Menasha, age 64, passed away peacefully in the presence of his loved ones on Sunday, August 29, 2010 at NorthPoint Medical and Rehab, Oshkosh, due to kidney failure. He was born October 19, 1945 to the late Charles and Gertrude (Karp) London of Minneapolis. They traveled to Washington D.C. were Geoffrey was born, later returning to Minneapolis where he was raised. Geoffrey served his country with the Army during the Vietnam War. Upon his return from service, he worked temporarily with his father in the wholesale fur business. He then went into the career of his passion as an optician, eventually opening his own office, London Optical Dispensary on Richmond St. in Appleton. Geoffrey is survived by a brother, Richard, St. Paul, MN; and a cousin Irwin Shapiro, Woodsville, NH; his dear friend Fern Fuhrmann and her family: Susan (Terry) Hammel and their children Stephanie and Jason; Paula (Em) Elbe and their children Ty, Tanya, and Alex; and Sarah (Randy) Lamb and their children Brandon and Randy Ranch. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved Great Dane, Apatchees Clear Running. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at 10:30 A.M., at St. Marks Lutheran Church, 140 S. Green Bay Rd., Neenah. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until the hour of service. Inurnment will be at Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, King, WI. Fern and family warm-heartedly thank the wonderful staff of Heartland Hospice of Fond du Lac for their loving care of Geoffrey and the family, especially Jennifer and Kristi.
