RICHARD SWANSON

Richard A. Swanson, age 86 of Menasha, passed away Friday, January 11, 2013 after a year-long battle with cancer. He was born August 15, 1926 to the late Carl and Margaret (Schanke) Swanson in Ladysmith, WI. On June 6, 1949 he married Audrey Wanty, who preceded him in death. Richard enjoyed watching football, reading and woodworking. He was a hard worker, having spent his entire career working his way up the ladder at Kimberly-Clark. He retired from there in 1987 with the title of Supervisor. He was also a member of St. Johns Catholic Church, Menasha. Richard is survived by his children: Steve (Mary); Randall (Connie); and Charlene (Tom) Landskron; his grandchildren: Eric (Rhiana); Tim (Rebecca); Grant; Carly; and Abby Swanson; Andrew (Sandra), and Nicholas (Ashley) Landskron; and three great-grandchildren, Lucas Swanson; Michael and Tarrah Landskron. He is further survived by his sister, Marian Hamm; and his brother, Carl (Doris) Swanson. He is preceded by his daughter, Mary Swanson; and his grandson, Joey Witchell. The funeral service for Richard will be held at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Menashas Westgor Funeral Home, Deacon Rick Dvorak officiating. Friends may visit from 4:00 P.M. until the hour of service. Interment will be at St. Margaret Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been in established in Richards name. Richards family would like to extend a warm thank you to Gardens of Fountain Way, Dr. Baltz, Dr. Phillips and to Theda Clarks 5th floor, especially Cherrie, for their compassion and care throughout Richards illness.
