RUTH DARR

Ruth E. Darr, of Neenah, age 61, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at Theda Clark Medical Center. She was born November 9, 1951 in Jacksonville, IL, daughter of the late Gerald and Mildred (Lindley) Darland. Ruth graduated from Virginia High School in Virginia, IL, class of 1969. She received her RN degree and then enlisted in the US Navy, being stationed on Adak Island, in Alaska. Ruth retired from the Navy and then entered the Naval Reserves and retired as a Cmdr. in 2006. Ruth was employed with Theda Clark Medical Center as an OR Nurse for a number of years. She then was employed with Womens Care, retiring in March of 2012. She enjoyed golfing, EAA, cooking and travelling. Ruth volunteered her time with a number of organizations. Survivors include her brother, Ron (Patsy) Darland, Virginia, IL; a nephew, Jeff Darland, Phoenix; a niece, Rhonda (Michael) Ream, Phoenix; four grand-nephews: Kain, Parker, Gage and Dylan; a grand-niece, Piper; and her dogs, Ripley and Riley. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 21, 2013, at Neenahs Westgor Funeral Home. There will be a visitation on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until the hour of service. Full military rites will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in Ruths name.
