DELORES WIERSUM

Del Wiersum (Dyutka), age 85, passed away on January 17. Del was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin, on September 2, 1927. She was a graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School (Kenosha, WI). Del married the love of her life, Russell A. Wiersum, on June 21, 1947. She was loved dearly and will be missed by her family and many friends and loved ones. Del was a remarkable woman and a real inspiration to those who knew her. Her faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, was unwavering and she and her husband committed themselves to raising their family in a Christian home. Del was an active member of Covenant Christian Reformed Church, and she was very involved with Stonecroft Ministries. She traveled the country as a speaker for Christian Womens Clubs and shared her personal testimony to literally thousands of people. Many of those who heard her speak committed their lives to Christ. Del is survived by her five children, Sandy Veltman (Ron), Brad (Karen), Jane DeKorne (Dale), Jon (Mary), Tom (Michelle), fourteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Russell (2006). The celebration of Dels life will be held at Covenant Christian Reformed Church, 1601 S. Covenant Lane, Appleton, at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 25, 2013. Visitation at the church at 11:30 AM, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Covenant Christian Reformed Church. Interment at Green Ridge Cemetery, Kenosha, WI.
