VIOLET PETERSON

Surrounded by her loving husband and children, Vi died Monday, January 28, 2013 at Cherry Meadows. She was born to the late Walter and Barbara Herman in Manitowoc, WI on September 17, 1929. She resided there until she married Kenneth J. Peterson, also of Manitowoc in 1951. They lived in Neenah, WI; Aiken, SC; and Appleton, WI. Ken and Vi enjoyed 61 years of marriage. Vi was a dedicated and nurturing mother who focused on raising her three children. They were her pride and joy. Throughout the years, Vi worked at Kimberly-Clark, Florida Steel, and J J Keller as well as volunteering at church, Womens Auxiliary, and Meals on Wheels in Neenah. Vi enjoyed attending sporting events with family members such as Packer games, Badger games and the Masters Golf Tournament. She was an avid reader and she also enjoyed traveling. Survivors are her husband, Ken: daughter, Nancy (Donny) Pittman, SC and their children: Jennifer, GA; Jason (Hannah), SC; and Sarah (Drew), GA; daughter Carrie (Richard) Cook and their children: Jacob and Mitchel; son, James (Cindy) Peterson and their children: Thomas and Andrew, SC; two brothers and sisters; two sisters-in-law; many nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service for Vi will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 31, 2013 in the chapel at First Presbyterian Church, 200 Church Street, Neenah, Revs. Richard Moore and Paul Huxtable officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. in the church parlor. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation as a memorial to First Presbyterian Church, Neenah or to a charity of your choice in Vis name. In honoring Vis wishes, a private inurnment is planned for the comfort of the family at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton at a later date.
