ROBERT HOGAN

Bob was born in Green Bay, WI to the late Mae Hogan on June 10, 1924. He passed from here peacefully and rejoined his beloved mother in heaven on February 10, 2010. They await us there. He was here for 85 years. After graduating from Green Bay East High School in 1942, he served our country in Europe in WWII where he earned the Bronze Star and a Purple Heart after being badly wounded in Germany in 1945. Following the war, he attended the University of Wisconsin at Madison and graduated from the College of Advanced Traffic in Chicago. After his graduation he worked for more than 30 years for Marathon/American Can/James River in Neenah and Menasha and for more than three years for the Green Bay-Chicago Lines trucking company in Green Bay. Bob married the true love of his life, Pearl (nee Gaedke), on May 9, 1959 at St. James Church in Shawano. They were wedded for more than 50 years, making their home in Neenah and raising their two sons, Mike (Julie), Eagan, MN and Pat (Andrea), Neenah. Besides his wife and sons, Bob will be missed by his two grandchildren, Sarah (Santa Monica, CA) and Sam (Eagan, MN). Bob had a quick sense of humor, a ready smile and a kind word for everyone. He was devoted to his sons and was never too busy to play catch in the front yard or for a game of cards or pool. His duties as a husband and father were always his top priority. He was a model dad. He collected and kept many good friends throughout his life. He was a lifelong Packer fan and he loved and excelled at bowling and golf. Especially golf. Following his retirement he and Pearl travelled together extensively. He also made custom golf clubs for more than 20 years under the name Bobs Golf Sales . Bobs visitation will be at Neenahs Westgor Funeral Home on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Bobs funeral will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Neenah, where he was a faithful member for more than 40 years. Visitation will begin at 10:00 Monday until the hour of the service at the church. His body will be interred at the Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery at King. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bobs honor will be welcome for Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 809 So. Commercial St., Neenah, 54956, or the charity of your choice.
