JOHN SCHEER

Scheer, John F. Neenah Age 90, passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2010 at Cherry Meadows Hospice in Appleton. He was born on September 12, 1919 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, son of the late John F. and Linda (Hilt) Scheer. Dying on Valentines Day ended a 63.5 year marriage to Marion, a love story until the end. John was a dutiful Son, having served his country during WWII with the U.S. Army. He provided for his family working in the Kotex division at Kimberly Clark for 35 years, retiring in 1980. Johnny was a charter member and Past President of Winnebago Archers, a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church, and a true hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed Archery Golf, gardening, sailing, and camping with the Wisconsin Bowhunters. Johnny and Marion were very proud of the A-Frame cabin that they built near Mountain, Wisconsin. In addition to his loving wife, Marion, John leaves behind his 5 children: Jo Scheer, Puerto Rico, Anne (Maury) Hepner, ME, Madelyn (Mal Jones) Scheer, Madison, Irene (David) Sturges, Neenah, Ted Scheer, St. John, USVI; 8 grandchildren: Jennifer (Michael) Schaper-Young, Andrew Schaper, Tony Kunde, Sam Scheer, Emelye Sturges, Sophia Scheer, Mariah and Marina Scheer. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister, Helen (Bernard) LeRoy. Funeral Liturgy for John will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Gabriel Catholic Church with Father Richard L. Allen officiating. Friends will be received on Friday evening, from 5 until 8 P.M. at Neenahs Westgor Funeral Home and again on Saturday at the church from 10 A.M. until the hour of service. Full Military Honors will be performed immediately following mass outside of church. In lieu of flowers, donations in Johns name are appreciated to the Winnebago Archers or to Theda Care at Home Hospice.
