LENNA COWLING

Lenna M. Cowling, 93, of Cocoa, Florida, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, January 21, 2010. She was born in Neenah, WI, daughter to the late Charles and Sabra Graham, the eldest of three sisters. Lenna worked in Washington D.C. at the Treasury Dept. and retired from the Chicago-Northwestern Railroad. After spending time in Japan, Lenna moved back to WI, with her first husband, the late Leo OConnor. In 1979 she met and married a fellow Neenah H.S. classmate, John W. Cowling, of Miami, FL. Lenna spent 20 years in South FL., and then she moved to the Space Coast area of Central FL. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Order of the Eastern Star, and the First Presbyterian Church. Lenna supported numerous charities including wildlife groups, Cleveland Clinic, Diabetes Research and Wellness, Disabled American Veterans, and the U.S. Olympics. Lenna is survived by her husband John, son Thomas (Cindy) Graham of Pickerel WI., grandson Troy (Colleen) Graham of Texas. She is also survived by her sister Marjorie Kempinger of Green Bay WI., nephew James Kempinger of Green Bay, step-daughter Lorraine Plank, step-daughter-in-law Linda OConnor Greetan, brother-in-law Norman Lindekugel, and numerous members of the Wheaton, Kempinger, OConnor, and Plank families. Lenna leaves many long-time friends to mourn her passing. In addition, she is survived by step-daughter Mary (Herman) Verrett, step-son John (Tania) Cowling, Jr., step-daughter-in-law Judith Cowling, 10 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren from Florida. Also, her extended FL. family and friends will deeply miss her. Lenna was preceded in death by her sister Edith Lindekugel, niece Sabra Wheaton, nephews Larry Kempinger and Chuck Wheaton, step-sons Leo OConnor, Jr., and Louis P. Cowling. Always a sweet, delightful person, Lenna was full of life and spunk . She loved people. A memorial to celebrate Lennas life will be held in Cocoa, FL. at a future date. Private Funeral services will be held at Neenahs Westgor Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Oakhill Cemetery.
