Obituary
John S. Nelson, age 69, of Neenah, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday morning, January 27, 2010 at his home. He was born on October 17, 1940 in Marquette, Michigan, son of the late Sigurd and Flora (Pearson) Nelson. On March 7, 1964 he married Nancy E. Hooker in Houghton, Michigan. The union was blessed with two beautiful daughters, six grandchildren, and 45 wonderful years. John was employed in the Neenah area with Central Paper and recently with Journal Communications. He was a family man, and loved time spent with his grandchildren; he was an avid reader and enjoyed fishing and gardening. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Nancy Nelson; daughters: Kimberly (Edward) Fischer, Fairport, NY, Karen (Jay) Frost, Oshkosh; six grandchildren: Mitchell and Alex Hurlbut, Arafel, Renee, Audrey, and Isabelle Fischer; sister: Joan (Jack) Crabill, MD; brother: Sigurd (Sheila) Nelson, FL; sister-in-law: Fern Wynne, FL. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother: Glenn Nelson. In accordance with Johns wishes, private family services will be held at a later date. I was very sorry to learn of Uncle John's passing away. He was a wonderful uncle to Kristi and me, and also a great brother (and in- law) to Glenn and Fern. I know we will all miss him greatly...Heaven is richer, but we are made poorer by losing him. I look forward to seeing him (and Dad) in the spirit someday! Love alway, Kathy
