Obituary
Arviin H. Sell, age 92, formerly of the town of Menasha, passed away Friday, February 5, 2010, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home, King, WI. Arvin was born November 8, 1917, in Neenah; the son of Herman and Ella (Falk) Sell. He attended Spring Road School and Neenah High School. After graduation in 1935 he learned his building trade from his Uncle August Sell. On November 8, 1941 he married Dorothy Meschefske of Stetsonville, the love of his life. In December 1942, Arvin enlisted in the Navy Seabees and spent three years in the South Pacific and New Guinea Campaign. He fondly remembered his foxhole buddy Danny Boy. After World War II, Arvin worked for Kimberly Clark Corp for three years. He then formed Naef & Sell before starting his own business as a building contractor. He retired in 1981 and had built many fine homes. He was a first class carpenter. Arvin and Dorothy had 68 years of marriage. They had two sons, James Arvin and Allan John; as well as two beautiful grandsons, Matthew and Andrew. Arvin was a faithful member of Immanuel U.C.C. of Neenah. He took part in many activities of the church. He was a volunteer fireman of the Town of Menasha for 43 years. He was an avid deer hunter and he loved the north woods of Wisconsin. He built a cozy hunting cabin and shared it with his family, friends and many hunting buddies. His hunting days came to an end and the cabin was sold. Another cabin was built in Wild Rose by Mr. Marvin Schwichtenberg in a beautiful spot. Arvin also loved to travel within the States. He loved his parents and family. He built a beautiful home for his family. Arvin is preceded in death by his grandparents; parents; wife Dorothy; one son, Allan John; a sister, Marguerite Dennee; a brother, Palmer Sell and his faithful pet, Muffy. He is survived by his son James (Lynda) and grandsons Matthew and Andrew and many friends. The funeral service for Arvin will be Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Immanuel United Church of Christ, Neenah with The Rev. Eric Quinney-Burnard officiating.
