BERNARD MAY

Bernard Philip May, age 64 of Appleton, Wisconsin, passed away on March 12, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Hospital with his family by his side. He was born December 21, 1948 in Sparta, Michigan to Frederick and Marcella May. On May 29, 1992, he married Roxann Berryman. Bernie served over 23 years of faithful and active duty in the United States Navy, which included two tours in Vietnam. He retired as Gunners Mate Chief (Surface Warfare Technician). He was also a longtime employee at J.J. Plank in Neenah. He was an avid fisherman who loved northern Wisconsin and upper Michigan. Bernie is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Roxann; his daughter, Dawn May; grandchildren: Jacob, Delanie and Sophia; sister, Joyce (Walter) Wagner; brother, Larry (Carol) May; sister, Karen (Patrick) Hartwick; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Ronald and Frederick May. The funeral service for Bernie will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Neenahs Westgor Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday, March 15, 2013 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and again Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service. Military honors will be performed at Resthaven Cemetery immediately after the service.
