Obituary
Vera Marie Birr, age 89, of Neenah passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at the Heritage Hospice Residence in Appleton. She was born on September 29, 1923 in Ogema, Wisconsin, daughter of the late John H. and Ruby M. (Knowles) Anderson. On June 2, 1945 she married Myron Lee Birr, and the couple was blessed with 4 children and 53 wonderful years, until he preceded her in death on December 27, 1998. Vera was a very devoted wife, and a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a member of St. Marks Lutheran Church in Neenah and also a lifetime member of the Fox River Beagle Club. Vera loved the Packers. She also enjoyed reading, word searches, scrapbooking, bowling, traveling, and baking her famous zucchini bread. She will be sadly missed by her children: John (Linda) Birr, Hortonville, Mike (Laura) Birr, Larsen, Jan (Dave) Huebner, Neenah, Kevin (Andrea) Birr, Redgranite; her grandchildren: Robin (Aaron) Herbner, Krista (Jason) Warner, Lori (Ray) Farr, Penny (Matthew) Cornelius, Keri (Jody) Lenz, Matt (Joanne) Huebner, Phil (Karen) Huebner, Becca (Dave) Tueffel, Steven Birr, Stephanie Birr, Samantha Birr; great grandchildren: Quinn, Parker, Aston, Brody, R.J., Aaron, Steven, Tricia, David, Nate, Chris, Emily, Grace, Henry; sisters: Gen Behreandt, West Allis, Berl (Jake) Campbell, Riverdale, GA; special nephews: Jimmy Behreandt and Mark Campbell; a special friend, Bea Nobbe, Neenah; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to her parents and her beloved husband Myron, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Max Birr. The funeral service for Vera will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Marks Lutheran Church (140 S. Green Bay Road) with Rev. Stephen W. Dietzler officiating. Friends will be received directly at the church on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service. She will be laid to rest next to Myron in Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established. The family would like to thank the staffs of Heritage Hospice Residence and ThedaCare at Home Hospice for their loving care and compassion through Veras illness.
