Obituary
Donald G. Kuehneman, age 89, Neenah, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2008, surrounded by his family at the Sebring Gardens Assisted Care Residence in Madison. He was born on May 20, 1919 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin; son of the late George and Dora (Julius) Kuehneman. Don married the late Joyce Kuehneman on March 18, 1958, and made their home in Neenah until April 2004 when they moved to Waupaca. He worked in Sales and Product Development for Marathon, Kimberly-Clark and Wisconsin Tissue Mills during his career. After graduating from Neenah High School, Don enrolled at UW-Madison, studying for two years until joining the army when World War II broke out. He served in North Africa and Italy, fighting in the battle of Anzio. Don returned home after the war and finished his education at UW-Madison. Don played an active role in his childrens and grandchildrens lives. When he wasnt involved with their activities, he enjoyed his regular golf and poker game with friends, the Elks Club, bird watching and visiting his favorite store, Sams Club. He loved travel, whether for business or on one of the many cruises that he and his wife enjoyed. He was proud of his community, serving as alderman on the Neenah City Council. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and kind heart as well as being a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. Don is survived by his three children: Scott (Lou) Andersen, Waupaca; Patty (Mark) Schweiger, Madison; David (Kim) Kuehneman, New Berlin, WI; his grandchildren: Erin Andersen, Katie, Elizabeth and Laura Schweiger, Sarah, Andrew, Kathleen and Jack Kuehneman and Angelo Scuderi. He is further survived by his sister, Midge Boehm, Neenah; and her children: Todd (Jane) Boehm, Mary Jo (Steve) Stilp, and Catherine (Jack) Melk, as well as a sister-in-law, Jean Dalton, Neenah. Don was preceded in death by his brother in law, Howard Boehm. A private service will be held. Memorials in Dons name may be made to HospiceCare, Inc., Sebring Scholarships or the Alzheimers Association. The family wishes to thank the staff at Sebring Gardens Assisted Care and HospiceCare for their wonderful care of Dad and support for the family.
