DEVON McINTEE

Devon "Mac" McIntee, age 86, passed away peacefully at Bridgewood Nursing and Rehab on Wednesday night, November 5, 2014. Mary, his beloved wife of 63 years was at his side holding his hand. Devon was born in Pine Grove, Wisconsin on August 14, 1928 to the late Forest and Susie (Lorbiecki) McIntee. Eventually, the family moved to Oshkosh, where Devon graduated from high school, and got a job working for Kimberly-Clark, where he met his beautiful bride Mary. Devon retired from Kimberly-Clark after 41 years, which included a hiatus while he served actively in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Devon enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially in his earlier years with Mary. He single-handedly built a cottage in Townsend, WI on Little Horn Lake, where the entire family enjoyed fishing, swimming, and taking boat rides. Devon was always building things with his hands, and especially enjoyed carpentry. He also enjoyed gardening, drawing, collecting antiques, reading, listening to classical music, and traveling with Mary while they were able. His greatest love was for Mary, to whom he remained devoted and caring until his last breath. He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him as a gentleman as well as a gentle man. Devon is survived by Mary, his beautiful and beloved wife of 63 years, two daughters: Linda (John) Bullock of Oshkosh; and Nancy McIntee of Neenah; two grandchildren: Zachary Bullock of Menasha; and Rachael (Adam) Starks of Appleton; two great-granddaughters: Taylor and Carmen Starks, both of Appleton; and cousins and niece and nephew. Devon was preceded in death by his parents, his mother and father-in-law, Bert and Mabel Curry; and his son-in-law Dave Kohler. Devon's Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 A.M. at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 with Rev. Ricky Schroeder officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M until the time of service. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery. Dad, you'll be in our hearts forever and we will miss you. Thank-you for all your love and for teaching us how to be good people. The lessons you've taught us will never be forgotten. We love you. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Bridgewood for the loving care they gave to Devon during the years he spent as Mary's constant companion, and then during his own residency there. You've all been very comforting and gave us confidence knowing that Devon and Mary were in the best hands possible. Your assurance that Mary would continue to be well-looked after allowed Devon to go home peacefully.
