MARY McINTEE

Mary Jane (Curry) McIntee, age 87, of Neenah, passed away on July 5, 2015 at Bridgewood Nursing and Rehab in Neenah. Mary was born in Neenah on April 9, 1928 to the late Mabel and Hugh Bert Curry. As a lifelong Neenah resident, she was employed at Kimberly-Clark Corporation, where she met her late and beloved husband Devon James McIntee. After her marriage, she was a stay-at-home mom until she took a crossing guard position with the Neenah Police Department, where she was loved by the children she helped cross the busy street on their way to and from Taft and St. Gabriel's Catholic School. Later, she worked at Atlas Tag and Label, from which she retired. Mary was very skilled at sewing, cooking, gardening, and loved a variety of activities involving her whole family. She spent a lot of time at the family cottage sunbathing - one of her favorite pastimes. Another was collecting antiques with her husband. Their home was a virtual museum. Mary had a great sense of humor, often joking, laughing and singing on the spur of the moment. After retirement, she spent a lot of time with her two grandchildren, teaching them cooking, crafts, and gardening. Mary is survived by two daughters: Linda (John) Bullock, Oshkosh; Nancy McIntee, Neenah; two grandchildren: Zachary Bullock, Menasha; Rachael (Adam) Starks, Kaukauna; and two great-grandchildren: Taylor and Carmen Starks, Kaukauna. She was preceded in death by her parents: Mabel and Hugh Bert Curry; her beloved husband, Devon; an infant brother Hughbert Curry; a sister, Patricia Rausch; her Mother and Father-in-law: Susan and Forest McIntee; and her son-in-law David Kohler (Nancy). A Celebration of Mary's Life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Schroeder officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family would like to thank the staff at Bridgewood Nursing and Rehab for the kind and loving care they gave to Mary during her residency there.
