CONSTANCE MEHLBERG

Constance Mae Schwerin Mehlberg, age 91 of Oshkosh, was called by her Lord to come home on September 11, 2012. Constance Connie was born August 26, 1921, the only daughter of Wilbur and Gladys Rasmussen, now deceased. Constance graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1939 and then worked at the Poinsetta Tea Room where she met her first husband. She married Raymond Abe Schwerin and together they raised three daughters, Micheele (James) Krueger, Marion, WI; Pequitte Schwerin (John Enzmann), Dumfries, VA; Brenda (Robert) Keller, Oshkosh, WI. For many years, Constance worked in retail hardware stores and retired from Morning Glory Farms in 1975. Constance was very well liked for her knowledge of hardware and her great customer service. During that time, Constance was known for her love of gardening, her raspberry and strawberry patches, her fantastic angel food cakes, making beautiful quilts and her love of family gatherings. She was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church where she belonged to numerous women groups, spending time visiting the elderly and counting the collection money every Monday. Following Raymond Abes passing in 1998, Constance was lucky in love and married Lawrence Mehlberg in 1999. They enjoyed thirteen years of marriage; he survives. Constance was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Elvah, Jerome and Merten; sisters-in-law: Jean, Germaine, Catherine, Theda and Bernice; brothers-in-law: Ackard, Adolph and George. She is survived by her husband Larry; her three daughters and sons-in-law; grandchildren: Keith (Jean) Krueger; Quint (Trudy) Krueger; Bradley (Kelly) Krueger; Ryan (Debbie) Krueger; Eric (Laura) Johnson; MaryBeth (Matt) Bayens; Todd (Linda) Keller; great-grandchildren: Kyle (Sara); Kimberly (fianc Ryan); Alyssa (Tyler); Nathaniel; Kittrick (Josh); Krysta; Tyson; Sydney; Marcus; Hannah; Fletcher; Jennifer; and Cassandra; and a great-great-grandchild due in January. She is further survived by a brother, Reverend Lyle (MaryAnn) Rasmussen and nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Constances life with visitation at 12:30 P.M. at First United Methodist Church, Doty St., Neenah, on Monday, September 17, 2012, followed by the service at 2:00 P.M. Burial will take place at Clayton Cemetery, Mikesville, WI and the procession will leave the church at 3:30 P.M. The family would like to thank the staff at Mercy Medical Center (ICU) and Evergreen Retirement Community for their loving attention and care during the past three weeks.
