JOHN JOHNSON

John Edward Johnson, age 54, passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2012, following complications from a stroke. He was the first born son of Helen Gordy and the late John Johnson. John graduated from Kaukauna High School and then joined the National Guard. He went to work for Foremost Farms in Appleton where he was employed until he suffered a major stroke in May of this year. John loved to collect family photos and other collectibles. He was a huge science fiction fan and collected Star Wars memorabilia. John enjoyed going to flea markets to see what treasures he could find. He had an awesome memory up to the very end and could tell you every detail of a family event years ago. John is survived by his mother, Helen Gordy, Kiel; two sisters: Linda Johnson, Shawano, Missy Scribner, Kiel; uncles: Jerry Engelman, Lake Havasu, AZ, Edward (Christine) Engelman, Menasha, William (Peggy) Johnson, Kaukauna; two aunts: Rozi (Bill) Hansen, Virginia, Sherry (Mike) Tierney, Darboy; and many nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his father, John Johnson; a brother, Jamie Johnson; grandparents: Edward and Joyce Engelman, Samuel and Jane Johnson; aunts and uncles: Al and Martha Giles, Robert Johnson, and Candy Engelman. The funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at Menashas Westgor Funeral Home. The visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until the hour of service. The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at both St. Elizabeth Hospital ICU Department and Manor Care for the kindness they showed John during his stay.
