ROBERT McLEOD

Robert C. McLeod, age 86, passed away early Tuesday, October 21, 2014. He was born in Michigan on April 23, 1928 and graduated from Milan High School in 1946. He then joined the Marine Corps and guarded the U.S. Embassy in Spain where he met Elizabeth Barnicle. They were married on October 10, 1954. Robert then graduated from Michigan State University with his Bachelor's Degree in History in 1955, and with his Masters in School Administration in 1958. Robert worked as a Principal in his children's school in Michigan. After moving to Neenah, he took a job as Vice Principal at Shattuck, and eventually became a Social Studies teacher. He greatly loved educating and always had a special place in his heart for his students. He enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, dancing, gardening, and traveling. He and Elizabeth spent many summers in Cape Cod and enjoyed seeing the world after their retirement. They eventually became snowbirds, spending their winters in Lake Havasu, AZ and then summering in Door County where they spent a lot of time with their family. Robert is survived by his three daughters: Janet (Ronnie) Hahn, Appleton; Joan McLeod and Jeanne (Randy) Reiter, all of Neenah; grandchildren: Rachel (Adam) Lange; Mitchell Reiter; Clark Reiter; Laura Hendrickson; Alex Hahn; and Heather McLeod; his great-grandchildren: Alessandra Nelson; Marcus Nelson; Izaiah Melendez; Xayvier Melendez; Eliyas Melendez-McLeod; Elijah Hendrickson; Samuel Hendrickson; Kaya Lange; Reyna Lange; and one on the way. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth on October 19, 2011, and by his parents, Harry and Genevieve (Seeger) McLeod. The Funeral Service with Military Honors for Robert will be held at 7:00 P.M. Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until the hour of service.
