RICKY WIED

Wied, Ricky James Ricky J Wied, age 59, of Neenah died unexpectedly at home on Thursday, January 8th. He was born on April 5th, 1955 in New London to the late Peter James and Gloria Mae Wied. Rick enjoyed a long career in the auto body business and created quite a name for himself with his custom paint jobs. He was truly an artist when it came to painting murals on cars and motorcycles and some of his work was even published in auto magazines. There was no design he could not create and execute to perfection. Rick loved adventure and taking the road less traveled. He owned his own body shop in California for years and also worked in Alaska for a time. He had a unique way of looking at the world and was curious about everything. He knew so much about so many things and could amaze us all with his knowledge on subjects we didn't even know he was interested in. Rick's relationship with the Lord was of the utmost importance to him, even inspiring him to write and record a beautiful gospel song of his own. He believed in forgiveness and everlasting life with his Lord and Savior and it comforts us to know he is exactly where he always wanted to be - with the Lord. Rick had a wonderful sense of humor and would give the shirt off his back if he thought you needed it. One of his passions was fishing and he was quite good at it too. You haven't had a fish fry until you've had a fish fry served to you by Rick. He was so good at so many things and he will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Rick is survived by five brothers and sisters: Dixie Peterson, Kim Wied, Ginny (Dan) Hudziak, Jeffrey (Ellen) Wied, and Nancy Czeskleba. He is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Rick was preceded in death by his parents Peter and Gloria Wied and a brother-in-law Terry Czeskleba. A Celebration of Rick's life will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at Menasha's Westgor Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Huff officiating. Friends may gather at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Please feel free to share any photos or your memories of Rick with those in attendance. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in his name. Rick, our dear brother, you could be stubborn as a mule when you wanted to but you also had a kind, generous, and loving heart and we were lucky to have you as our brother. We love you and will carry you in our hearts till we meet again. Give our love to mom and dad and Terry and all of our loved ones who have gone before us.
